K-5 Religious Formation

Watching many pray and worship here at St. Matthew Catholic Church, I am constantly reminded of my own spiritual growth over the past six years.
St. Matthew’s is a culturally diverse and vibrant community with religious programs and activities for everyone!
Through parish budget preparations for the new fiscal year 2012-2013, I have noticed a growing concern that touches every parishioner at St. Matthew.
Religious Programs come with a tuition fee. These fees cover books, supplies and administrative expenses. Unfortunately, a significant number of our families are not paying their tuition fees at all or only in part.
As a responsible parent, you want the best for your child. When each family pays their tuition fees, they insure good programs at the Parish. When one family does not pay their fees in full, the parish budget has to absorb the cost and every family , every program and every activity in the Parish is affected. (another personal example … go to a restaurant, you have to pay to eat.)
Beginning with school year 2006-2007 to the present school year 2011-2012, we have accumulated $__53,128.00__ in unpaid Tuition fees.
So, what can you do? If you know that your family has any outstanding tuition balances from previous years and/or this year, please take the time to drop by the parish office and pay them. The secretaries in the Church Office will gladly assist you.
Please do your part to help the Parish insure “good” Religious Education Programming for our children and youth!
LOVE,
Fr. Hector

By giving a couple of hours each week, YOU can make the difference in the life of our Parish Children! If you can help, please stop by the Bookroom or call Bianca in the Church Office at 817-860-0130.
